Web Maintenance Assistant

  • Job Description

WCCM is looking for a volunteer Web Maintenance Assistant. Due to additional recent investment in our Online content, the Community now has a very active web presence, through a number of websites, giving details of our programme of talks, retreats, seminars and conferences, offering articles, courses and materials, as well as publications, podcasts, access to our newsletter, a membership section, and so on. It’s a challenge for our current communications staff to keep it all updated, so we are looking for a volunteer with appropriate web maintenance skills to help us out a few hours a week with ensuring the basics are right – nothing out of date still up there, clear signposting, no typos, links which work, etc. The role can be undertaken remotely – no need to attend our office.

You will have excellent English language and grammar, preferably an English mother tongue speaker, good typing skills and an ability to format prose text on a computer, an eye for detail, an ability to choose and source appropriate images within copyright law, a genuine interest in Christian Meditation and an appreciation of the material that WCCM produces.

Brief Person Specification

  1. IT literacy
  2. English to the standard of mother tongue
  3. Website updating experience (We use WordPress)
  4. Good word processing skills
  5. Good proofing skills, an eye for detail and ability to spot typos and improve English phrasing
  6. Regular availability
  7. Willingness to donate 3-4 hours per week on a regular basis.
