Young Meditators (18-45)

Meditation with Young Meditators

  • About

The World Community for Christian Meditation believes that the contemplative tradition is not only for the seasoned practitioner or the monastic cell — it belongs equally to the young, the searching, and the beginning.
The WCCM Young Adults Programme exists to walk alongside university students, senior secondary school students, and educators as they discover the depths of their own inner life. Through a growing network of structured pathways, we accompany young people into contemplative practice, spiritual formation, and genuine human development.

Our work takes shape in several ways:

  • Retreats — We offer immersive retreat experiences at Bonnevaux, WCCM’s international centre in France, and in Brazil, creating spaces of silence, community, and transformation for young adults seeking something deeper.
  • Spiritual Intelligence in Education — A dedicated programme designed for schools and universities, equipping students and educators with the tools to cultivate spiritual intelligence, inner awareness, and reflective capacity in academic and institutional settings.
  • Ongoing Spiritual Formation — Beyond individual events, we support young people in the sustained development of their spirituality and interiority — through meditation groups, formation resources, and accompaniment within the wider WCCM community.

At the heart of everything is a simple conviction: that young people deserve access to the ancient wisdom of the Christian contemplative tradition, and that this tradition, when encountered authentically, has the power to transform not only individual lives but the communities and institutions they inhabit.
Whether you are just beginning to explore meditation, deepening a practice already underway, or looking to bring contemplative approaches into your work in education — you are welcome here.

  • Spiritual Intelligence in Education
"Cultivate your inner life. Transform the world around you." "More presence, less autopilot."

An online, 12-week journey for students and educators who believe education is more than grades, assignments, and career goals — and who want to develop the inner life alongside the outer one.

  • Young Adults Meditation Groups
There is much to learn about the tradition of Christian mysticism, which enriches us, stimulates us, balances us and leads us to experience the Spirit that inhabits us. WCCM helps meditators find their way in this tradition. The basis of meditation lies not so much in study, but in practice.

WCCM’s Christian meditation groups are open to young adults aged 18 to 45. Everyone is welcome and the meetings are free.
If you want to learn to meditate, starting out in a group can be very enriching. During these meetings (of around 40 minutes), we read sacred texts from the contemplative tradition, meditate for 20 minutes and share our spiritual friendship through the practice of silence.
  • Retreats for Young Meditators

What if your perceived weaknesses were actually your greatest strengths? Spend five days at Bonnevaux exploring “living from the inside out.” No masks, no performance—just Christian meditation, embodied movement, and a global community of seekers (ages 18–45).

Trade the noise for the French countryside and deepen your spiritual journey.
