Bere Island, Co. Cork, Ireland: 17-24 April
Led by Laurence Freeman OSB
Holy Week is the final run-up after Lent to the climax of the Christian year, the great Triduum opened on Holy Thursday, of Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. These days draw us in to the mystery of Christ, experientially and by deep reflection on the story of these days where suffering and death explode into the joy of the Resurrection.
We will again be entering into these holy days contemplatively in the beauty and peace of Bere Island. Fr Laurence will lead the retreat and celebrate the liturgies in the island church with retreatants and islanders. Participants gather at the Heritage Centre daily for a talk, meditation and discussion and other events are scheduled and recommendations made days to enhance the preparation for the celebration.
Retreat Schedule:
A detailed Daily Schedule will be given on arrival. There will be yoga each morning at the Heritage centre followed by a talk by Fr Laurence and meditation. There will be a common evening meditation also.
