Don’t meditate if you just want to know about yourself because you’re curious. But if you meditate, you will come to knowledge of yourself, or the knowledge that is yourself, self-knowledge. So this utter self-revealing is this opening of our self-knowledge, our self-awareness from within, which always takes us by surprise when we really know ourselves with a new kind of knowledge, which is not reflective knowledge, not self-analytical knowledge, but it’s the utter self-revealing. It just surges up and breaks through.
