A universal way

For us, we have been led, thankfully, to this path of meditation and the way of the mantra. We don’t say this is the only way or that we are the best, but we know and we can share this knowledge with whoever is interested, that this is a valid way and it is a universal way. We can teach meditation to five-year-olds or to 95-year-olds, we can teach meditation to people in recovery from addiction, people on the margins of society, people sleeping on the streets, and we can teach it to top executives and politicians. It is the radical simplicity of meditation in this way that I think has allowed the community that John Main began more than 40 years ago to evolve in the way that it has, not by any great design, not by a huge investment of money or great bureaucratic institutions, but by the work of the Spirit.
