This capacity to wait is our collaboration with the power of God to manifest in new, in fact in endlessly, infinitely new ways. And that’s why impatience – although we’re all subject to impatience because behind the wall of the ego the taste of reality is very weak and we live in a virtual reality and therefore we become impatient. We imagine we’re going to get what we want immediately, or we’re going to fantasise about what fulfilment and happiness might be. We’re focused so much in popular literature today and self-help literature on finding happiness rather than living, than being happy. But to focus to such an obsessive level on being happy and finding happiness is only a reflection of our own unhappiness. It isn’t very real to say that we are pursuing happiness as if it was some kind of goal and that we want to achieve this in a permanent state. That’s simply not very realistic.
