If love is the reality and fear is what blocks it, you could say that fear is illusion. What is the difference between illusion and imagination, a creative imagination that can come up with original solutions to problems, that can see things in different ways, or the beautiful imagination of a Michelangelo or a Mozart? What is the difference between illusion and imagination? Both of them play with reality. But illusion replaces reality. A good healthy imagination does not believe everything it is creating as if it were ultimate reality, the truth. But illusion does believe or convinces others to believe that it is the truth. So it deceives, the father of lies. So we can say the ego is the father of lies when it is in the service, of illusion rather than controlled and a servant of the higher imagination. Illusion then deceives both the speaker and the listener.
