Loving those who are rejecting you

What I mean is that the test really that the ego is in its right place, the ego is under control, is that we can lay down our life for others. That means give our attention to others and we can accept the suffering that others have in themselves, even when that suffering is the suffering of their own wounded ego. That means loving one’s enemies. It’s easy to love one’s friends who will love you. It’s easy to love people who are in a state where they just require help, they’re passive, hopeless, and helpless. That’s easy, relatively easy. But to love those who are rejecting you, that is the real test of love, as we know from the gospel.
