Remember St Paul speaking about the gospel as a way of salvation, a way of healing, a way of flourishing, a way of coming to the fullness of life that begins in faith and ends in faith. So it’s open-ended. So, what do we mean by faith? Obviously, this is something different from belief. Even the devil believes in God, somebody once said. So we’re not saved by belief. But we are saved, as Jesus often said to people he healed, ‘Your faith has healed you.’ We are saved, through developing our human capacity for faith.
