We begin to find, in the very ordinary things of daily life, that this background radiation of love, the all-present power of God, is everywhere and at all times. But it can be hard work. (…) This learning to be still, this learning to love ourselves. It’s a hard work, but it’s a work we do in obedience, not out of our own will. It’s in obedience to our Master, the Lord Jesus. It’s in obedience to the deepest call of our being, which is the call to be ourselves.
