Transcending the ego is serious work. It’s serious stuff. It’s not easy. We know that meditation is simple, wonderful, delightful, fruitful. But it’s not easy. So this is why it’s so important that there are people like ourselves, who are simply pilgrims in a community travelling towards the kingdom, that there are people and sources and communities who teach meditation as a serious practice of transformation, not just as calming the mind. Calming the mind of course is the first step, but it’s not the goal only.
