Source par excellence

And I’d like to suggest to you that we reflect upon the sources of wisdom available to us today. What are these sources? And how can we open them up again? (…) We are all news junkies today. We are all fed, fed, fed, with news and views and opinions. But in contemplation, you go back to the source. Not to opinions or views, or information. But we go back to the source of consciousness itself, what the mystical tradition calls the heart, the apex, or the virgin point of the soul. In the Middle Ages they used to say that the one place that the Devil cannot get into is your heart. He is always very frustrated because he cannot get in to see what is going on there, in this pure point of consciousness. Contemplation is, of course, I would say the source par excellence. But there are many other sources that we can recognise.
