What I’d like to reflect with you about is the importance of re-connecting, in a contemporary way, with our own contemplative tradition. That contemplative tradition has always been seen to be involved with the question of holiness, human holiness, and the holiness of God. And meditation, which I will share with you as well and take time to practise together, is a way into contemplation. People sometimes ask what is the difference between meditation and contemplation? And that would be the simplest answer I could give and it seems to me to make sense: Meditation is the way into contemplation.
