The source of all distractions

This third level of consciousness is what we could call the brick wall. This is like the brick wall of the ego. And when we come to the brick wall, we are really meeting, in a sense, the source of all distractions, which is the ‘I’ thought, that little awareness of our self or self-consciousness that makes us feel separate from other people. It is a necessary part of our psychological development, that we have an ego and that the ego should be healthy. But sometimes, the ego’s sense of being separate becomes unhealthy, excessive, and therefore becomes isolation. And this is where the problems begin.
