We are holy. But it’s not our holiness. The source of that holiness is the One who is holy – the only one who is holy, the One who says, ‘I am who I am (Ex 3:14).’ So I think it is helpful to remember that, because it reminds us that we don’t have to achieve anything. How close the kingdom of God is actually? Jesus said it isn’t far from you; it’s only one step away. It’s not that distant or difficult; we just have to give it a chance. And the chance we are giving it is to allow, through the practice of meditation, to just allow the mind to settle down.
