We are becoming Christ-like

Love is not a feeling. Love is certainly not an ideology. It’s the direction in which we’re facing. Are we facing back into ourselves, into our own needs, into our own balanced sheets of Do I have enough? Do I have enough to make me happy? Or are we turned towards others? The only great meaning of that, I think, is that we are there, so thereby we are becoming God. First of all we are becoming Christ-like. But we are also becoming God-like. And that is the whole meaning in my life, as expressed in the great theological announcements of the early church that God became human in the Incarnation, in the person of Jesus, in order that we human beings could become God by sharing unreservedly in the life of God.
