Most of you hope that meditation will help you to focus better. Distraction is one of the consequences of the world of stress that we are living in. We are constantly being pulled in different directions, our attention is being dissipated, we’re constantly checking our phones. We live in a world in which we are constantly being tugged in different directions – constant pressure, constant stimulus, constant demands upon our attention. And this creates a culture and a psychology of distraction which is in itself very unhealthy and uncreative. Creativity depends upon the right kind of attention, the right kind of focus. Satisfaction in what we do depends on that right kind of attention. And meditation is about attention.
