We should at least be aware of the distinction

(PHOTO: LAURENCE FREEMAN, CANADA)

I have spoken with people who have who have said, ‘I just find the meditation too much sometimes. Then I will listen to a guided meditation on my headphones, Headspace.’ I have nothing against that, but it is a preparation for meditation. It is not meditation itself. It is easier, it is easy, really. You just put your headphones on and you listen to this nice, calm, soothing voice saying whatever it says, I’ve never actually listened to one all the way through, but it is calming, and soothing, but it is not meditation in the deepest and fullest sense. I am not saying it is a bad thing to do, I am just saying we should at least be aware of the distinction.
