Walls can create feelings of separation, of exclusion (you’re not wanted here, go away) of rejection. And all of these are feelings that cause human beings the greatest suffering, the feeling of being unwanted, the feeling of being excluded, rejected. This is what goes to the very core of our human need for love, for belonging, for integration for wholeness. The ego is not all negative. The ego is a wall, but the question is: Is it built and maintained by fear and suspicion, hostility and prejudice? Or does our ego operate in our life, our daily life, in our relationships, by helping us to find the optimum distance with others that allows us to develop a relation-ship? And that’s the question: What kind of ego do we have?
What kind of ego do we have?
