(…) when we first start to meditate, and we hit the brick wall it may seem as if I’m stuck, I will never get any further. Will I break through? How can I know that I will ever break through? I meditate day after day and no breakthrough is happening. So we need to be encouraged and we need to be informed that this is what any spiritual tradition does for us if we listen to it. It’s what the church should be teaching when it is teaching us about prayer, even from a very young age, that prayer works, prayer moves the brick wall of the ego. Faith moves mountains, and prayer can bring about this transformation of our human condition.
