In all sorts of work projects that we are involved in, we start off with a clear vision, an ideal, and then somehow or other it all descends into petty squabbling and division and individual egos, into fragmented elements that clash with other ego forces. These works to which we dedicate ourselves over many years can become hijacked by self-interest, by the desire to control and to acquire power rather than to serve. They can be hijacked by the dysfunctional ego.
