WCCM is present at the World Youth Day (Lisbon, from August 1st to 6th) and we invite you to follow our activities during this event. A group led by Laurence Freeman and the Director for Meditation and Young Adults, Tayna Malaspina will be in Portugal for a pre-WYD retreat in Leiria (close to Fatima) and then going to Lisbon to take part in the World Youth Day activities.
Laurence Freeman: “World Youth Day is organized every few years by the Catholic Church. I have attended one in the past and it is joyful, hope-filled and energizing. The young people who come are open and enthusiastic about their faith. They are also realistic about the challenges they must face in our world if it is to grow. Our reason for being there is to share meditation as a way of faith to help them continue to progress into adulthood with an ever-maturing spiritual life. We will also share our ecumenical, inclusive, contemplative community with them.”
You can follow our journey on the WCCM Instagram: @the_wccm (we will be using the hashtag #WCCM4WYD).
We will be posting daily on the WCCM website as well.
