Laudato Si’ encyclical recognizes that we’re “striving in countless ways to guarantee the protection of the home which we share.” Our efforts have borne fruit, but we’re just getting started.
Environmental disasters like floods, storms, heat waves, and droughts are causing more suffering. We’re committed to doing more now, especially during this extraordinary year, which marks the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’ and the Paris agreement on climate change as well as the Catholic Jubilee year.
This is our moment to raise hope together. Over three incredible days, we will unite as a global family of good, will to reflect on the impact of Laudato Si’ and chart a path to the future. For its tenth anniversary, Laudato Si’ will be hosting the Raising Hope Conference from 1 – 3 October, online & from Rome. Leaders from the realms of faith, movements, science, and policy will reflect on the impact of Laudato Si’ and the most effective actions we can take now.
Father Laurence Freeman will join the Panel on Deepening Conversion: The Spiritual Path of Laudato Si’ on Wednesday 1st October at 13:30 – 14:05 (Europe time). On 2nd October, Fr Laurence will lead a meditation during a moment of prayer at Borgo Laudato Si’.
As it takes place at the end of the Season of Creation, the conference becomes a prophetic sign of unity and care. Inspired by Saint Francis, we seek paths of ecological conversion for the present and the future.
