Vivian was born in Hong Kong and received her education from Stanford University in the U.S. She started her career with the South China Morning Post, the main English newspaper in Hong Kong. She has worked in public relations and in the banking industry. Apart from the US, she lived in Japan for 6 years and since 2001, has resided in Hong Kong. She is married to Daniel and has two grown daughters. She became a member of the Guiding Board in 2021.
