A New Horizon: ‘Young Meditators’ (18–45) Outreach

Recognizing that the contemplative path is as much for the student and the young professional as it is for the monastic, we have created the long-overdue Young Meditators (18–45) outreach category.

This initiative is built on a simple, powerful conviction: young people deserve access to the ancient wisdom of the Christian contemplative tradition. In a world of performance and digital noise, this programme offers a “structured pathway” into spiritual formation and genuine human development.

Walking Together: The Young Adults Programme

The WCCM Young Adults Programme isn’t just about sitting in silence; it’s about accompaniment. It exists to walk alongside university students, educators, and young seekers as they navigate the complexities of modern life.

“The contemplative tradition is not only for the seasoned practitioner or the monastic cell—it belongs equally to the young, the searching, and the beginning.”

Through this new category, WCCM focuses on three core pillars:

  • Retreats: Immersive experiences at Bonnevaux (France) and in Brazil, creating spaces for community and transformation.

  • Spiritual Intelligence in Education: A dedicated effort to bring inner awareness into the heart of academic and institutional settings.

  • Ongoing Formation: Sustained support through meditation groups and resources that help integrate interiority into daily life.

Key Initiatives for the Modern Seeker

1. Spiritual Intelligence in Education

Education is often reduced to grades and career goals. WCCM is challenging this narrative with an online, 12-week journey designed for students and educators. This programme is for those who believe that developing the “inner life” is just as critical as honing the outer one. It equips participants with the tools to cultivate reflective capacity and spiritual intelligence within their schools and universities.

2. Young Adults Meditation Groups

Community is the backbone of the WCCM. Across the globe, Christian meditation groups specifically for those aged 18 to 45 are opening their doors. These meetings are free, inclusive, and require no prior experience. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or have never tried to sit in silence before, you are welcome.

3. Upcoming Retreat: “Living from the Inside Out”

For those looking to trade the noise of the city for the peace of the French countryside, an landmark event is approaching:

  • When: 28 July – 2 August

  • Where: Bonnevaux Centre for Peace, France

  • The Theme: What if your perceived weaknesses were actually your greatest strengths?

This five-day retreat invites young adults (18–45) to drop the masks of performance. Through Christian meditation, embodied movement, and a global community of seekers, participants will explore what it truly means to live authentically from the inside out.

A Call to Transform

The launch of this category is more than just a new webpage; it is an invitation to transform not only individual lives but the communities and institutions young people inhabit.

Whether you are looking to deepen an existing practice, exploring meditation for the first time, or seeking to bring contemplative approaches into your work in education—you are welcome here.
