Times for being

PHOTO: LAURENCE FREEMAN/USA

The times of meditation are times for being, not for wanting. They are times in which we take the wanting out of being and, as a result, experience pure being and the bliss that having nothing but being generates. Those two times of daily meditation a day become times of spiritual work and times of powerful re-creation. As times of renewal and refreshment the effect of those short periods of desirelessness overflow into daily life. You are not merely recharging your batteries; you are making contact with an inexhaustible source of energy, the energy of divine being.
