In the practice of meditation we do not allow our petitions or intentions to enter into the pure prayer. ‘God knows our needs even before we ask.’ But we are paying attention. Not making intentions but giving attention. This is the pure seeing of meditation, of the contemplative state. It is the vision of God, the seeing of God. So, we do not entertain particular ideas, images or theories of God in our mind. We are not speaking to God, we are not thinking about our problems. We are doing something greater: we are being in and with God.
We are being in and with God
