“Hi my name is Emmanuel. I come from the north, a very nice city in the west of France. I started meditating around five years ago for therapeutical reasons but I must admit that I have been practicing in the last two years for both therapeutical and spiritual reason.
What brought you to Bonnevaux?
What did you particularly enjoy about the Bonnevaux daily rhythm of life?
Bonnevaux is the place where contemplative prayer meets contemplative life. First of all thanks to the place in itself, the nature, the architecture, but most of all the people. When you come from urban life and you arrive in Bonnevaux, you realize how very busy people who the inhabitants of Bonnevaux can really stay open, attentive and care about anything you need during your day.
What I really enjoyed in Bonnevaux was some talks with some of the people there. But what I really thought was a proof of contemplative life was the meals we shared and very interesting conversations about serious matters in peace. For me meditating in the community is a real change. I must admit it was not easy as a step for me but I do find it really reassuring and I feel stronger in my meditation. My stay in Bonnevaux really influenced my way of meditating have I think deeper meditation and longer and twice a day, which is real, real change in simply one year.”
