Building The Meditation Habit
An Online Course
With Padraic Dunne
"Only in this moment can we be trustingly open to whatever comes next, the endlessly new."
Only a small percentage of those who learn to meditate succeed in developing a habit, and for good reasons. Developing a habit is much more difficult than merely developing a skill. While the latter is based on technique and will power, the former requires perseverance and the wise management of expectations.
In this mini-course by Padraic Dunne, a meditation teacher and Senior Research Fellow at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, you will learn practical tools to help you move beyond the initial decision to meditate to something much more important, the integration of the practice of meditation into daily life. What you will discover in this course:
Lesson 1
Preparing for Meditation: Guided Body Scan
This simple body scan will help you listen to your body so that you can make your mind aware of the body’s needs. It will also help you to get out of your head.
Lesson 2
Part 1 – The Habit Loop
Something that is very important (especially for beginners) is the sustainable development of a new meditation practice, and how to integrate this practice over weeks, months, and years to come.
Lesson 3
Part 2 – Make your habit real
It is crucial that you make your habit real, and not just in your head. And that includes you plan for generating your new habit.
