In Memoriam: Magdalena Puebla (1950 – 2021)

Magda and Laurence Freeman

A much-loved pioneer of the WCCM in South America, Magdalena Puebla, died on the 22nd of August. The global Community holds “Magda” and her family (Andrés, María, Mario) in its heart, with love and gratitude for her life. She was a real gift not only for WCCM Argentina but helped to spread Christian Meditation in other countries (Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay) since 2005.

She also translated books and retreats with Laurence Freeman many times throughout the years.

Fr Laurence’s message:

“The world is a less vital and joyful place without Magdalena. I will miss her and my heart goes out to the family for its loss. They will be in my prayers. She is already making heaven a more heavenly place and it will overflow back to her family especially and also to the community she loved and served so generously. She is resting on God’s love and peace. God be praised and thanked for her life”

On the coming Sunday, 29 August, the Contemplative Eucharist from Bonnevaux will be a celebration of Magda’s life and in gratitude for her services for the Community in South America. The mass starts at 12:00 (French time) with live streaming from Bonnevaux and simultaneous translation into Spanish. Join the live mass from Bonnevaux HERE .
